SUMMER NO MORE

Holy bejeez, you guys. Is it really the end of August already? Not that I’m too upset about that. Anyone that knows me knows I hate this stupid season. Is there really anything even remotely appealing about the hottest/stickiest/bug bite-iest time of year when you don’t have any kind of access to a pool? At least my job has freezing cold air conditioning. Pretty much the only thing I like about going to it. But I can’t deny that Summer can often be a special time that we look back on and siiiiiigh. I must admit, this one wasn’t too bad. Here’s a couple things I’ve been reflecting on:

JUI-CY-FRUIT! JUI-CY-FRUIT! JUI-CY-FRUIT!

I saw Jucifer back in June. It was…..loud. Like, really loud. And it was super funny watching Amber Valentine put on this totally brutal show, only to hop right off the stage when she was done and greet fans with the cutest little smile. Don’t let the music fool you, these guys are a bunch of wittle rascals.




DO YOU GUYZ LIKE MY NEW LOOK?? #srsly

Sometime in July, Black Tusk and Lady Gaga played New York on the same night. I was heading to Black Tusk, but I couldn’t quite figure out which show this lovely lady was heading to. Can you?




I spent a couple days out at Warped Tour and met the Dillinger boys. A few weeks later, they were nice enough to pose with this Happy Birthday sign. But of course, nothing quite measures up to that moment when you realize your favorite band that you’d never thought you’d ever see in a million years was indeed real. According to Roddy Bottum’s blog, the reunion appears to be over Well, glad I got a good 3 shows in while it lasted.

At one of their last gigs at the Forestglade Festival in Austria, Patton was up to his usual shenanigans:

Something tells me this isn’t the last we’ve seen of these guys. I guess there’s always next Summer….

But for now, I’m gonna break out the boots and the scarves because school is back in session, or something. Haaa…school. Remember that?
