RANDY BLYTHE: DUMB ENOUGH TO SWING AT MARK MORTON, SMART ENOUGH TO LEAVE HIM ALONE AFTERWARDS
Oh hey, remember me? Sometimes I write here. Anyways…
I tend to write about Lamb of God a lot cause, uh… they’re one of my faves. But I just read this article on Noisecreep that brought up a pretty good point. Before their upcoming South American/Australian fall tour, the members of Lamb of God are purposely avoiding each other. Why? Because they’ll see each other ENOUGH when they’re ON TOUR. In a BUS. CONFINED SPACES. That might be the smartest thing my friend Mr. Blythe has ever done. He says:
“We tour so much. We’ve been on tour well over a year off and on, and we know our s—- so well we really don’t need to practice. If we need to do a new song for the set we just run through it at sound check a few times and then we’re good to go.”
Good! We saw what happened the last time you guys spent too much time together (See video above, if you haven’t seen it already. Hermit) More bands should do the same I think. How many bands break up/take a break due to fighting within the band? We all need some time to ourselves every now and then- If some down time keeps the band together, then so be it.
What now broken up bands do you think could’ve used a little more individual “me-time”?
