Incase you missed it….here is the ‘killer’ performance that Queen did with American Idol finalists Adam Lambert and Kris Allen on last night’s finale.  Sorry for the poor quality, but FOX is pretty nazi-like with their content…and this is the best I could find.

I’m a big American Idol fan and I read every single Idol blog there is.  I typically find out about every little surprise this show will have before it happens.  There was lots of talk about who was going to be appearing and/or performing at the finale: Lionel Richie, Keith Urban, Rod Stewart, Cyndi Lauper, Queen Latifah, Black Eyed Peas, Steve Martin, Jason Mraz, and yes, even KISS, who did a phenomenal performance with Adam Lambert, which you can watch here.  I also read that David Bowie was going to be there, but that turned out to be false.

As soon as I heard the opening to “We Are The Champions,” I thought…no way, they’re just doing a fun ‘finale duet.’  And then…the big reveal was made.  Queen was actually there!  “NO FUCKING WAY!!” were the words that spurted out of my mouth.  Maybe I shouldn’t have been so surprised, but this just goes to show people, or more specifically, people who hate this show, that NO ONE IS TOO COOL FOR AMERICAN IDOL.  It is one of the most-watched shows in the country.  Hop on, y’all.

Of course, there are some elite artists who don’t need to appear on Idol to maintain their notoreity.  I’d have put Prince in that category…but even he performed at the Season 5 finale.  And now Queen??  Daaamn, yo.

Anyway, I would like to extend my Congrats to Kris Allen.  I liked Adam better, but after I read that Kris’ home state of Arkansas may or may not have been responsible for nearly 40% of the national vote, I got nothin’.  Also, it appears that Adam might already have something lined up.
