Reign in Blonde [noun; plural] - Two tall, blonde chicks who bring the metal. We're not know-it-alls, and we don't report the news. This is our blog where we simply discuss what's on our brutal minds. Bon Appetit.
I didn’t know that In This Moment covered Blondie’s “Call Me”, let alone did a video for it. It’s pretty cheese-tastic, but if you close your eyes and just listen, it’s not a completely terrible cover. At least it’s not as bad as I thought it was going to be.
My thing with In This Moment is that they straddle the line with pop rock and metal. Personally, I love both of their albums, even those The Dream is a lot lighter than Beautiful Tragedy. I like that they’re unapologetic about whether or not they’re metal “enough” and just want to concentrate and making good music and not just something metal… but when they do the harder stuff it’s bomb! I don’t know what I want them to do exactly, but they might be losing their more metal fanbase by going to the light side…
On the other hand, I think Maria Brink makes a pretty decent modern Debbie Harry, no?
