Limp. Bizkit. -What?? It’s Wussy Wednesday, helllooooooo!!!
I realize, this may go beyond “wussy”, but I can explain. Since I just graduated, I’ve been very nostalgic and reminiscent of ALL my years in school (thanks alcohol). When thinking about music, the first thing that comes to mind is when I discovered metal, but at a close second in my pre-teen/tomboy-ish years: when I hung out with the boys and we thought we were rebels for listenting to Limp Bizkit and KoRn.
Ah yes, those were the days. Going to summer camp in Woodstock and sneaking off to the woods when we were supposed to be in “Wood-working” (LAME), doing Hawaiian Highs (…anyone else do this?), and wearing JNCO jeans (Oh yeah, I had a pair). But I also distinctly remember going to the area roller skating rink and requesting aforementioned bands and being denied- because they were too “hard.”
I hate to say it, but I still have a little soft-spot in my heart for old Limp Bizkit. By the time Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water came out, my friends and I had basically moved on. But Three Dollar Bill, Yall$ was our jam, at least for that summer. Summer camp holds quite a few memories for me, and this is just one of the few that stick out. And now I’m old. Yay.
I was going to opt for “Nookie”, but instead went for “N 2 Gether Now” because I actually have it on my iTunes and admit to listening to it once in a while. Plus, I went to Catholic school, so we didn’t even know what “Nookie” was until the next single came out. Although, now I think I may need to go look through my old collection and see if I can dig up that old disc…
I’m not about to go see the reunited LB though, sorry Fred. I liked the beard though, that was nice.
