RiB PARENTS: HOW BRUTAL ARE THEY REALLY?
If you read our FAQ’s, you know that we are frequently asked if we like metal because of our parents. That’s a big NO from both of us. However, I’ve noticed of as late that at least my parents aren’t as “un-metal” as I’ve always considered them. Maybe I don’t give them enough credit… Here’s my evidence:
Dad
- Had (“had” in the past tense because, well… I stole it) an original copy of Black Sabbath’s Paranoid on vinyl.
- Loves himself Harley Davidsons (but isn’t quite Hell Bent for Leather)
Mom
- Will listen to Rob Zombie on her own.
- Tells me that she bought me a black sponge for my shower. I already have one, but the black one is “more brutal”
I wasn’t raised on leather and lace, or anything remotely rock n’ roll and yet, I turned out alright. And don’t forget to cut your parents some slack now and then, cause as we know, “There’s nothing more brutal than raising children.”
