CURIOSITY KILLS THE KITTIE?

*Sigh* Is anyone listening to me???

Today on MetalSucks, a reader named Justin noticed that “My Plague” from Kittie’s latest release In The Black is a “rip-off” of Lamb of God’s “Laid to Rest.” Observe for yourself:

Allow me to quote myself, from a post on September 7th, 2009: …and you can’t say the the first 10 seconds of “My Plague” doesn’t remind you of a chick Lamb of God. Copycats? Nah. I think they just finally found what makes them purr.

I rest my case. As someone who considers both Lamb of God and Kittie to be amongst my favorite bands, I can say I clearly see the similarity, but it’s not exactly Vanilla Ice vs. David Bowie. What do YOU think?
