“I JUST LOOOOVE COCK ROCK”
Metal Hammer just started this cool new feature called “PopMetal,” in which they play current metal for some stars from mainstream music. For their first installment, they sat down with Ke$ha, who released one of my favorite guilty pleasure pop singles of the year: “Tik Tok.” A friend of mine coined Ke$ha’s style as “Valley girl hip hop,” which I think is pretty dead-on. I’m not sure if Julia knows this song….but I’d be willing to guess that she’d dislike it slightly less than Lady Gaga! :)
A few months ago when I was watching the MTV Video Music Awards, I happened to catch Shakira’s red carpet interview and she mentioned that she was a fan of the band Crystal Castles. They’re this kooky hipster electronic rock band that you’d never expect someone like her to like, so I can’t help but wonder what other people in the pop world are into. Ke$ha and I’s taste don’t really seem to match up very much, though. She gives Atreyu the thumbs up, but HORSE the Band is a no? Ugh…get off my plane, girl.
