Shalom metaloids! Tis the season and since between the two of us we have 1.5 Jews we decided to put together a little something for (C)Hanukkah. This is Reign in Blonde’s Metal Menorah, and every night we’re lighting a candle in honor of someone who deserves some recognition. So grab your lighters Jews and Gent(ile)s, it’s Metal Menorah time! Tonight’s Honoree…

LIV KRISTINE, LUMINIS, AND EVERYONE ELSE THAT GAVE US MAJOR LOLZ THIS YEAR… AND ALL THE TIME

One of the reasons why we’re unique (and why you like us!) is that we’re not really afraid of saying what’s on our mind. Especially if it’s offense. It’s not that we target people to pick on- we like to think of ourselves as “equal opportunity offenders” if you will- but whether we like you or not, we’re probably not going to let you get away with doing/saying something stupid. I mean, it’s great material. Metalheads are serious folk, but we like some funny here and there too, no?

So tonight we light a candle for all those who kept dumbass-ery coming this year, namely Liv Kristine, Luminis, everything under the “bad music” tag, Juliya & Metal Sanaz, Attack! Attack!, scenesters, hipsters, emos, and crabcore afficionados alike. Keep it coming, so we can keep writing in 2010. <3
