MEMBER OF HOLLYWOOD UNDEAD TO COMPETE ON AMERICAN IDOL

Oh yeah, you read that correctly.  This is not a joke.

Ok, everyone.  January is almost upon us, which means only one thing to me:  AMERICAN IDOL IS BACK!!!!!!!  I love this damn show, and I’m sure people despise me because of it….but this crap is like football season for me, so let’s get our head in the game:

In addition to the multitude of metal, music, fashion and gossip sites I read, I also follow a fair share of blogs devoted strictly to American Idol.  Recently, these sites have been buzzing with leaked info on contestants that have made it past certain levels of the competition for the upcoming season.  Today, mjsbigblog posted the deetz on a fellow named Daniel Murillo.  They sure dug up the dirt on him: pictures, social networks, Youtube links…you name it.  As it turns out, Mr. Murillo used to be a member of a band called Lorene Drive.

As of 2009 Lorene Drive is currently on hiatus. Daniel Murillo is currently the new singer for the Los Angeles based band Hollywood Undead.

I had one of those “..and the record stops” sort of moments.  SAY WHAT??  I did some further research, and it looks like he’s just been a temporary touring member for the band’s most recent tour.  It would actually be against the rules of the show for him to still be the member of a signed act.  Uhhhh, whatever.  When you’re a Jet, you’re a Jet all the way, AMIRITE GUYS?!

As of now, we only know this guy has made it to the Hollywood round.  For those of you who have never seen the show…it’s a week of boot camp that the contestants go through before they advance to the semi-finals.  So maybe I’m jumping the gun a little here…but think about it:  A member of Hollywood Undead, aka that shitty rap/rock band that performs in MASKS, just might be the next American Idol. How in the world does one go from this…?

I’m just a tad baffled….and nauseous.

Season 9 of American Idol starts Tuesday, Jan. 12th @ 8pm EST.  Hey Vote For the Worst, I think I found your guy!
