QUICKSAND: THE MOVIE; ELISE: THE EXCITEMENT
The Double Cross Webzine just did a post on a “rough” documentary-type thing that has recently surfaced about the band Quicksand. All of the footage was shot back in 1993 when they opened/toured with Rage Against the Machine. There’s lots of live footage and cool behind-the-scenes goodies. Here they are playing “Head to Wall” and “Omission” during one of their sound checks:
Check out the rest of the videos here. Goddamn, I love this band.
And ya know…I’ve never been one to get all riled up over some dumb comment someone posts on the internet, but this one in particular got to me a bit:
“I’ve never gotten the appeal of this band, or Rage Against The Machine. The 90’s is such a forgettable period in music when you think about it. Both of these bands are always out up on a pedestal by everyone, especially old hardcore guys. However compare these bands to say a Hatebreed, Atreyu, or Throwdown and they sound really weak.”
I can only hope it’s a joke, or that it was Sergeant D who wrote that. I feel like one of those people who read Stuff You Will Hate and simply don’t know what the hell they are getting themselves into. Congrats, whoever you are. If your goal was to make someone want to throw up…you succeeded. I guess not even my sense of humor is that good.
