KUMA’S CORNER GETS THE REIGN IN BLONDE SEAL OF APPROVAL. OFFICIALLY.

In February I wrote about a little restaurant in Chicago called Kuma’s Corner and how brutal it seemed. Well, that time I was in the Windy City I didn’t have time to go. Fortunately for me and my taste buds when I was there this past weekend I ACTUALLY GOT TO GO AND EXPERIENCE THE AMAZEMENT THAT IS KUMA’S!
(More pics and my full review after the jump!)

Now, we knew that this place was known to have a pretty hefty wait time, so we wanted to make sure we could minimize that as much as possible (being in a good mood helps). Kuma’s opens at 11:30am, and when we got there around 12 on a Monday the place was already packed. But, we only had to wait 10 minutes before being seated, and since I had already been staring at the menu online and already knew what I wanted it didn’t take long for our order to be put it and for us to be served. And what did we get?

For me, I had to get the Mastodon (10oz burger, cheddar cheese, bacon, BBQ sauce and frizzled onions) and The Beardo almost abandoned his hippie ways and got the Pantera (he choose to get a garden burger, but it’s roasted poblano pepper, bacon, cheddar and monterey jack, homemade ranchero sauce, and tortilla strips). All their burgers come on a pretzel roll and let me tell you- I hadn’t eaten yet that day and I still could only eat half of it. Not only was it probably the biggest burger I had ever had, but no doubt one of the best as well. I tried not to be biased just because it was a metal burger joint, but it’s obvious why non-metalheads dine there as well. It was absolutely delicious, and with a full bar, cool merch, and metal coming out the speakers there’s no way you could go wrong. It’s a metalhead’s dream come true. The only way it could be better is if there was a Kuma’s in New York…
