555 IS THE NEW 666. NOT REALLY, BUT ROLL WITH IT.
As you may have guessed from my lack of posting, my life has gotten a little hectic once again. I just started a new job (so far so good), and I have been/will be traveling a lot (no complaints). HOWEVER, I’ve been trying to get as much new music in my ears as possible, and I’ve discovered that the best way for me to do so is to just listen to EVERYTHING in my car. Enter stage left, Big Dave:

So, Dave and I have been doing some quality listening lately and I’ve been enjoying quite a bit of what I’ve heard from 2010 thus far. But since we here at Reign In Blonde have never been real big on full-fledged album reviews, I’m just gonna give you the skinny on 5 of the albums I’ve been listening to recently, in 5 words a piece. Here we go:
- Ihsahn, After- Saxophone makes metal more awesome?
- Demon Hunter, The World Is A Thorn- Not terrible, not great either.
- The Dillinger Escape Plan, Option Paralysis- Piano melodies equal more betterness
- As I Lay Dying, The Powerless Rise- Not “improved”, but definitely matured
- Eluveitie, Everything Remains As It Never Was- I’m a nerd. Love it.
And If you’re curious on what else I’m listening to here and there, come scrobble with me on Last.fm!
