THE ELISE-APPROVED SUMMER TOUR SCHEDULE

To echo Miss Gossowski, a vast portion of this year’s Summer tours are nothing to rave about. I don’t plan on going to any of them. (Maybe Ozzfest, if someone wanted to trek out there with me… ::shrug::) I’m not even going to some of the bigger arena events people might expect me to want to go to (i.e. Slayer, Iron Maiden, Rush) for no other reason than I don’t want to. But that doesn’t mean the season is a complete bust for lil ol’ Elise. There’s actually quite a few things coming up in the next couple months that I am pretty stoked about. These shows won’t have as many bells & whistles as the Cool Tour or Mayhem Fest, but a couple of them sure will be special. (To me, at least.) Here’s what’s up:

  • EYEHATEGOD w/ Nachtmystium & Brutal Truth, etc. - This is coming up this weekend, and it’s going to be pretty mega. Seriously, I hope I don’t get trampled and die. If you’re going, I will be hiding in the old lady seating section on the side. Also, I hope everyone showers before arriving, but I’ll try not to get my hopes up.
  • Jucifer & Gloominous Doom - As I’ve mentioned previously, I’m kinda late jumping on the Jucifer bandwagon, so I’m stoked that I can see them this Summer. I’m told their shows are beyond loud. I’m fucking ready. Let’s do dissss.
  • FAITH NO MORE - Duh. I’m finally going to see my most favoritest-est-est dudes after years of wating. I have tickets to both Brooklyn dates, and the Philly date, but I’m not really sure how to get to Philly, or anyone else who is going, so….we’ll see.
  • Zoroaster, Black Tusk & Dark Castle - I’m going to this mainly because I really want to see Black Tusk again. They ruled when I saw them open for Weedeater a few months ago, and their new album Taste the Sin is one of my favz so far this year. Zoroaster are aight, and I heard Dark Castle is pretty killer too. My buddy Grim Kim is slingin’ merch on this tour, so if you see her, ask her to ‘do the trick’ and tell her I wuv her.
  • Warped Tour - Yes, you read that correctly. There is a *possibility* that I am going this year, but it’s not definite yet. Andrew WK, Every Time I Die, Dillinger…looks pretty fun to me.
  • The Funeral Pyre & Early Graves - Two bands from California that both have albums coming out this month. This shit’s gonna be heavy.
  • Arab on Radar - So not only do I get a Faith No More reunion this Summer, but I also get an ARAB ON RADAR reunion, too. These dudes were noise rock gods about a decade ago, and I only got into them right as they were breaking up, so I never saw them. Until now! I’m so excited. I don’t even care that they’re playing at the sweatiest (and my least favorite) venue here in New York. I’m gonna rage!

And I’m sure there’s more. Strike Anywhere, Coliseum, and Landmine Marathon are all touring this Summer, too. But who knows how much I’ll actually have time/energy for. What are you guys up to this Summer?

-Elise
