Kurt Cobain died on this day 15 years ago.  This isn’t quite metal-related, but I think it’s important to bring up.  

Many have called this man ‘overrated’ over the years, but I will always hold him quite dear.  I was very very young when Nirvana was in their prime.  Nevermind was released when I was only six years old.  But even at that age, I was glued to the TV.  I remember watching the “Smells Like Teen Spirit” video thinking it was the coolest thing I had ever seen.  

Basically, Kurt Cobain was the first rock star I ever knew.  That might not be so impressive or interesting to that many people, but it certainly is true.  Would I be as rockin’ as I am today if it weren’t for this dude?  The world may never know.
