We are doing said record to Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing.”

This is precisely what happened to over 800 unlucky people, yesterday. Good thing I wasn’t one of them. I have already expressed my dislike for Rock of Ages and that damn Journey song that I cannot escape no matter what the hell I do…but I’m really over this whole air guitar thing, too. Maybe I’m just being a ‘Negative Nancy.’ :/

I’ve always been more of an air drummer, and lately, an air keyboardist. (Even during songs that have no keyboard in them.)

‘Don’t Stop Believin’?’ ….more like ‘PLEASE STOP SINGING THIS SONG’

This explosive Journey hit has been a Jersey Girl/Karaoke favorite for decades, but over the past few years alone, it has been downright unescapable. In 2005, the song creeped into the iTunes top 10 after it was played in the Laguna Beach season premiere. In 2007, The Sopranos featured it in the final scene of the series finale. After the American Idol finale this past week, FOX premiered a new show called Glee (see above), which highlighted their own [wussy] rendition of it.

I then woke up on this lovely Memorial Day morning and turned on the Today Show, only to find the cast of Broadway’s Rock of Ages joining in on the Journey fun. As much as I’d like to write some in-depth analysis of how this has all happened, how rock has become over-commercialized, how many millions Journey has in the bank, or how many dudes have gotten laid to this song…..it’s just not the point.

My fellow Americans, on behalf of the music-loving population of this wonderful country of ours, I have but one request: SHUT THE F!#$ UP!!
